Okay, so there are many reasons that I totally love January. One of them is New Year’s Resolutions.  It is a time of a fresh start and looking forward, setting goals and dreaming a bit. A top one on many people’s list is getting their home and lives more organized which I LOVE to help with.   Unfortunately, there a few resolutions that seem to reoccur on my list as I never quite think I have mastered them.  This year I RESOLVE to do it differently.

Does this ever happen to you? You start the year with a clean slate and a list of wonderful resolutions.  By noon (on January 1),  a few of them are in jeopardy (for me it is the healthy eating ones that come face to face with holiday leftovers!)  Once one or two get broken it seems that the others start falling by the wayside. How frustrating is that?

Here’s a thought for 2017 – 12 months (or 52 weeks) of new resolutions.  How doable is one new thing added as you go through the year?  No expectation of perfection, just a commitment to building on your successes and constantly and mindfully moving forward.  And, what if you weren’t worried about having the whole plan thought out, but you committed to not starting that new month or week without a specific resolve – your focus can be on new challenges or opportunities that are showing themselves to you at that time.

Here is another  thought…IT IS OK TO RESOLVE TO HAVE A WEEK WITHOUT SOMETHING TO WORK ON.  There, I said it.  The first 2 weeks of January for me were a specific resolve to give time to clear out 2016 (papers, overdue tasks) and taking care of the little things that get in the way during busier times (Doctor’s appointments, post-Christmas cleanup, a long overdue haircut).    Just remember to make sure what you pick is achievable and that you are clear on what success looks like so you can congratulate yourself when you have completed it.

I have set in motion the things that I need this year to make it the best one yet. I know what I need to complete for January to move into the 2017 that I have dreamed for myself, my family and my business.

I truly hope 2017 is a great year for you.(And if you did put getting more organized or getting ready to make a move, then please get in touch.  I’d LOVE to help!)
